Perfil e satisfação do ecoturista na zona do Mussulo - Angola

Abstract

Angola detém uma ampla rede de áreas protegidas que englobam as mais variadas e incríveis paisagens: a selva tropical, planícies férteis, lagos, montanhas e o extenso e extravagante deserto do Namibe. Nestas condições, surge e cresce a apetência pelo ecoturismo. O número de praticantes de ecoturismo em Angola tem aumentado nos últimos tempos, representa um segmento do mercado turístico que procura paisagens naturais e almeja desfrutar da natureza no seu estado mais puro, sendo encarado como um tipo particular de turismo verde, capaz de retirar prazer dos ambientes naturais não contaminados. Denota-se uma preocupação, da parte dos turistas, na busca de restaurantes, bares, bungalows, selva tropical, planícies férteis, lagos, montanhas, o deserto do Namibe e também equipamentos de aluguer para a prática de desportos aquáticos. O Mussulo é uma área turística de excelência que congrega as condições ótimas para a prática do Ecoturismo: trata-se de um baixio formado pelos sedimentos do rio Cuanza, uma península com uma extensão atual de oito quilómetros, constituída, no seu interior, por três ilhas sendo a maior e mais conhecida a chamada ilha dos padres. O Perfil e Satisfação do Ecoturista na Zona do Mussulo - Angola é o tema deste trabalho de dissertação de mestrado em Marketing. Após a revisão de literatura sobre sustentabilidade, turismo e ecoturismo, turismo em Angola e ecoturismo no Mussulo, constatamos que o saber disponível e o conhecimento específico sobre esta região necessitam ser aprofundados. Entendemos que, no contexto geral da problemática do turismo, é possível observar e confirmar os conceitos existentes por um lado e por outro trazer algum valor acrescentado, enriquecendo a informação sobre Ecoturismo no Mussulo. Na impossibilidade de acompanhamento da evolução do ecoturismo no Mussulo, que só uma investigação longitudinal permitiria, optamos por um estudo transversal que, através de uma metodologia quantitativa centrada na utilização de questionários, permitisse definir o perfil do ecoturista no Mussulo, estudar as suas motivações e razões da opção por esta área e calcular os níveis de satisfação específica e global. No capítulo das conclusões é apresentada uma relação detalhada dos resultados dos testes estatísticos, promovidos através do tratamento dos dados do inquérito, em SPSS (versão 25) e a consequente reflexão sobre os resultados obtidos em conformidade com as hipóteses apresentadas que se subordinaram às variáveis independentes género, profissão, habilitações e país de origem. O nível de satisfação dos ecoturistas inquiridos situa-se entre o Bom e o Muito Bom, facto que permite perspetivar um futuro risonho para a evolução do ecoturismo na região do Mussulo.

Angola has a vast network of protected areas encompassing the most varied and incredible landscapes: the rainforest, fertile plains, lakes, mountains and the vast and extravagant Namib Desert. Under these conditions, the appetite for ecotourism arises and grows. The number of ecotourism practitioners in Angola has increased in recent times, it represents a segment of the tourist market that seeks natural landscapes and aims to enjoy nature in its purest state, being considered as a particular type of green tourism, able to draw pleasure from uncontaminated natural environments. There is a concern on the part of tourists in the search for restaurants, bars, bungalows, rainforest, fertile plains, lakes, mountains, the Namib Desert and also rental equipment for water sports. Mussulo is a tourist area of excellence that brings together the best conditions for the practice of Ecotourism: it is a lowland formed by the sediments of the Cuanza river, a peninsula with a current extension of eight kilometers, constituted by three islands being the largest and most well-known the island of the priests. Ecotourist`s profile and satisfaction in the Mussulo Zone – Angola is the theme of this master's thesis in Marketing. After reviewing the literature on sustainability, tourism and ecotourism, tourism in Angola and ecotourism in Mussulo, we find that the available knowledge and the specific knowledge about this region need to be deepened. We understand that in the general context of the tourism problem, it is possible to observe and confirm the existing concepts on the one hand and on the other hand to bring some added value, enriching the information on Ecotourism in Mussulo. In the impossibility of monitoring the evolution of ecotourism in Mussulo, which only a longitudinal investigation would allow, we chose a transversal study that, through a quantitative methodology centered on the use of questionnaires, allowed to define the profile of the ecotourists in Mussulo, to study their motivations and reasons for choosing this area and calculating the levels of specific and overall satisfaction. In the conclusions chapter, a detailed list of the results of the statistical tests promoted by the treatment of the survey data in SPSS (version 25) is presented and the consequent reflection on the results obtained in accordance with the hypotheses presented that were subordinated to the independent variables gender, profession, qualifications and country of origin. The level of satisfaction of the surveyed ecotourists is between Good and Very Good, a fact that allows us to prospect a happy future for the evolution of ecotourism in the Mussulo region.
