Relação entre imagem dinâmica e imagem estática: Entreaberto - festival de genéricos de cinema uma identidade e um pretexto

Abstract

Considerando o domínio da imagem estática e dinâmica em conjunto com as possibilidades que estes universos propõem, esta investigação apresenta um trabalho prático sediado nestas temáticas, partindo do exemplo de genéricos de cinema, usando um festival fictício designado por “Entreaberto”. O projeto surge com o propósito de colmatar a descolagem que existe entre a produção gráfica afeta aos artefactos que coexistem com um filme, por estes se apresentarem sob a forma estática. Consequentemente, foram estudados diversos meios dinâmicos usando imagens estáticas para convidar o público a interagir, e as mesmas ao se tornarem num marco atrativo e de sedução permitem essa experienciação com os objetos produzidos, propondo estímulos e experiências distintas. Assim, entendeu-se que os diversos exemplos estudados e as soluções apresentadas possam servir como forma diferenciada de comunicação de um filme e também se constituam como um processo de extensão do mesmo para outros suportes. Para a execução do projeto numa fase inicial procedeu-se a um estudo das possibilidades que as imagens estáticas apresentam desde as anamorfoses, esterogramas, ilusão de óptica, efeito moiré zootropo, taumatropo, flipbook, pop-up, anaglyph 3D, fenacistoscópio, alto e baixo relevo, cronofotografia, até à exploração no âmbito da impressão lenticular, termosensível, termo cromática, hidrocromática e fosforescente. Procurou-se ainda sustentar este discurso gráfico através das transparências e dos efeitos moiré. O respetivo estado da arte, os estudos de caso e os testes efetuados constituiram momentos importantes para a prossecução do projeto de prático de investigação, que culminou com a criação de sete artefactos que se interligam com o espírito de festival “Entreaberto”. Os resultados obtidos demonstram apenas uma parte das soluções, considerando o leque infindável de possibilidades que foram propostas e que poderão ser exploradas futuramente. Este estudo pretende contribuir para uma compreensão do design de comunicação transpondo os convencionalismos de representação e interação nesta área.

Considering the field of static and dynamic image, together with the possibilities that these universes propose, this study presents a practical work based on these themes, that starts from the example of open titles sequences, using a fictitious festival called “Entreaberto”. The project aims to tackle the detachment that exists between graphic production related with the artefacts (static) and with a film. Consequently, several dynamic means were studied, that used still images to invite the audience to interact, and, as these artefacts become an attractive and seductive element, they allow the experience of distinct stimuli and experiences. Thus, it was understood that the various examples studied and the solutions presented may serve as a differentiated form of communication of a film and also constitute as a process of extending the same to other supports. The initial phase of this project was the study of the many possibilities that the static images present since the anamorphoses, stereograms, optical illusions, moiré effect, zoetrope, thaumatrope, flipbook, pop-up, anaglyph 3D, phenacistoscope, high and low relief, chronophotography, to the exploitation in the scope of lenticular printing, thermosensitive, photochromatic, hydrochromatic and phosphorescent. This graphic speech, was also supported through the studies of transparencies and scratch off ink. The corresponding state of art, the case studies and tests carried out were important moments for the pursuance of the practical research of this project, which culminated with the creation of several artifacts that link with the spirit of the festival “Entreaberto”. The results obtained demonstrate a wide range of solutions that have been proposed and which could be exploited in the future. This study aims to contribute to an understanding of communication design by transposing the conventions of representation and interaction in this field.
