Abstract: | A problemática energética e o excessivo consumo de combustíveis fósseis,
The energy problem and excessive consumption of fossil fuels has led to a greater demand for solutions to reduce these consumption. As such, since the building sector accounts for 40% of all world energy consumption, it is one of the sectors of activity where it is essential to act quickly and hence the importance of "NZEB- Near Zero Energy Buildings". In this sense arises research and new methods to achieve this type of building, and then the Systems of Ventilation by earth tubes. These systems allow a sustainable air conditioning, so there is no need for energy consumption. This dissertation was validated through the comparison of experimental data and Benchmarking with a tool of analysis of the performance of earth tubes available in the software DesignBuilder. A validation with an error of less than 10% was obtained for all the study cases, which shows a good correlation between the results. After validation, a study was carried out for three cities in Portugal, namely Bragança, Porto and Beja in order to perceive the performance of earth tubes in these locations. Several simulations were performed for three types of systems: HVAC, earth tubes and HVAC + earth tubes. This last one showed the lowest consumption for the city of Beja (24254.20 kwh / year) and also where the system shows better results to meet the cooling needs. It is then concluded that the use of earth tubes is effective and will be most effective for hot climates in the cooling season. |
