Regência verbal na realização do conjuntivo em frases subordinadas : estudo de caso da 12ª classe da Cidade da Beira

Abstract

O nosso estudo tem como tema: Regência na Realização do Conjuntivo em Frases Subordinadas - Estudo de caso dos alunos das 11.as e 12. s Classes da Cidade da Beira. Pretendemos, com esta investigação, compreender o nível de proficiência linguística dos falantes do português na cidade da Beira no que diz respeito ao uso do modo Conjuntivo. No primeiro capítulo deste trabalho, fizemos a apresentação dos elementos introdutórios (tema, problema, os objectivos, as hipótese, justificativas, entre outros). O segundo capítulo foi dedicado à caracterização do Conjuntivo em português. Apresentamos, primeiramente, as noções de modo com base em Mateus et al, na Gramática da Língua Portuguesa (2003) entre outros autores, o que permitiu realçarmos as características de uso desta categoria gramatical, evidenciando a distinção semântica e sintáticas. No terceiro capítulo, procedemos a análise dos dados relativos ao inquérito que realizamos junto da comunidade estudantil. Neste contexto analisamos os desvios e usos corretos do modo Conjuntivo. Numa prima primeira fase, descrevemos detalhadamente o método de recolha e análise das produções escritas que integram o corpus e apresentamos igualmente informações relativas ao perfil dos informantes. De seguida, elaboramos uma tipologia dos casos desviantes e dos casos em que o aprendente utiliza corretamente o Conjuntivo assinalados no corpus desta investigação. Por fim, no quarto capítulo, fizemos uma espécie de síntese das nossas principais constatações resultantes dos dados obtidos no inquérito. Em síntese, concluímos que grande parte dos nossos informantes não são capazes de reconhecer e aplicar as regras de uso do Conjuntivo nos contextos de frases absolutas e de subordinadas completivas de verbos volitivos, epistémicos e causativos, subordinadas condicionais, relativas restritivas e temporais. Concluímos igualmente que o tempo lectivo dedicado para ministrar os conteúdos relacionados com o modo Conjuntivo são ínfimos pois os programas curriculares prevêem dentro de uma unidade temática trabalhar vários outros conteúdos. Assim, recomendamos, aos gestores educacionais, dedicarem maior atenção aos temas ligados ao funcionamento da língua porquanto muitos deles possuem horas reduzidas. Este entrave condiciona a realização de “aulas perfeitas”. Aos professores de língua portuguesa, em particular, por conta da responsabilidade de desenvolver os conteúdos na sala de aula, recomendamos que façam levantamento diagnóstico das competências dos alunos no concernente à concepção do modo Conjuntivo.

Our study has a theme: Regency in the Realization of the Conjunctive Mood in Subordinated Clauses – A Case Study of students of the 11th and 12th Grades in Beira City. The intention with it is to understand the level of linguistic proficiency among speakers of Portuguese in Beira City on what concerns the use of the conjunctive mood. In the first chapter of this work, we presented the elements of the introductory part (the theme, problem, objectives, the hypothesis, justification and the research rationale among other aspects). The second chapter was reserved to the description of the conjunctive mood in Portuguese. At first, we presented the notions of the conjunctive mood, based on the insights provided by MATEUS, et al, in The Grammar of the Portuguese Language (2003) among other authors. This allowed the pinpointing of the features of the use of this grammatical category, highlighting the semantic and syntactic distinctions. In the third chapter, we proceed to the analysis of the data related to the inquiry we did together with a student community. In this context, we analyzed the deviance and the correct uses of the conjunctive mood. At first instance, in a detailed way, we described the method used in the gathering and analysis of compositions that integrate the corpus and we equally presented information related to the profiles of the respondents. In the following step, we worked on the typology of the cases of misapplication and the cases of the correct use of the conjunctive signaled in the corpus of this investigation. Lastly, in the fourth chapter, we synthesized the main observations as a result of our inquiry. In a nutshell, we concluded that the majority of our respondents cannot recognize and apply the rules of the use of the conjunctive mood in the contexts of absolute sentences and subordinate complement clauses of volitional, epistemic and causative verbs and of conditional, restrictive as well as time clauses. We conclude as well that the lesson time to cover the conjunctive mode is minimal, since the curriculum syllabus aims to work many contents within a single thematic unit. Therefore we recommend to the managers of education to pay more attention to the themes or issues linked to language function, as most of them have a very reduced time. This obstacle does not allow for a good or “perfect lesson”. To the Portuguese language teachers, in particular due to their responsibility to develop the contents in the classroom, we recommend them to do a diagnostic survey of the students competence concerning conception of conjunctive mode.
