Tarefas de organização e tratamento de dados no 2º CEB

Abstract

Este estudo foi desenvolvido na Unidade Curricular Prática Pedagógica Supervisionada em concordância com o Seminário de Investigação Educacional, parte integrante do curso de Mestrado em Ensino do 1.º e 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico (CEB) e teve como objetivo identificar e analisar as dificuldades que os alunos do 5.º ano do 2.º CEB sentiram aquando da implementação da Experiência de Ensino “Tarefas de Organização e Tratamento de dados no 2.º CEB” planificada neste estudo. Esta Experiência de Ensino teve como tema enquadrador o projeto “Matemática do Planeta Terra 2013” e pretendeu-se promover a interdisciplinaridade entre a Matemática, as Ciências Naturais e Educação Tecnológica. Para atingir esta finalidade planificou-se uma Experiência de Ensino que foi implementada numa turma de 29 alunos do 5.º ano no Colégio D. José I em Aveiro, tendo como objetivo dar resposta às três questões de investigação: i) – Qual o tipo de representação gráfica que os alunos do 2.º CEB priviligiam na resolução da Tarefa 1 da Experiência de Ensino “Tarefas sobre Organização e Tratamento de Dados no 2.º CEB”?. ii) – Que dificuldades apresentam os alunos do 5.º ano durante a resolução da Experiência de Ensino “Tarefas sobre Organização e Tratamento de Dados no 2.º CEB”?. iii) – Qual a adequação didática da planificação e implementação da Experiência de Ensino “Tarefas sobre Organização e Tratamento de Dados no 2.º CEB”?. Tendo em conta a natureza das questões de investigação, realizou-se uma investigação do tipo qualitativo, baseada na IA. Desse modo, foram recolhidos dados através da observação participante, consulta de documentos, notas de campo, aplicação de dois inquéritos por questionário e do registo fotográfico. Os resultados sugerem que os alunos inicialmente manifestaram dificuldades na construção e interpretação do Diagrama de Caule e Folhas, mas devido ao facto de ter havido uma insistência na explicação teórica deste tema de OTD e os alunos terem realizado mais exercícios de aplicação antes da recolha de dados, verificou-se posteriormente na resolução da Tarefa 1 da Experiência de Ensino que os alunos vieram a priviligiarar este tipo de representação gráfica. Em relação às dificuldades sentidas na resolução da Experiência de Ensino constatou-se que os alunos de modo geral manifestaram dificuldades ao nível da linguagem estatística, dos procedimentos a adoptar na recolha, organização e representação dos dados e ao nível da argumentação das respostas dadas. Conclui-se que é necessário desenvolver mais estudos que envolvam OTD no 2.º CEB para colmutar as dificuldades sentidas pelos alunos nomeadamente ao nível da construção e interpretação do Diagrama de Caule e Folhas.

This study was conducted in Supervised Teaching Practice Course in accordance with the Seminar for Educational Research, part of the Master in Teaching. 1th and 2nd. Cycle of basic education (CEB) and aimed to identify and analyze difficulties students 5. grade 2. º CEB felt when implementing the Teaching Experience “Task Organization and data handling in 2. º CEB “planned in this study. This Teaching Experience had as a guiding theme the “Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013 " project and was to promote interdisciplinary between Mathematics , Natural Sciences and Technical Education . To achieve this purpose has planned A Teaching Experience that was implemented in a class of 29 students 5. Third year in College D. Joseph I in Aveiro, aiming to address the three research questions: i) - . Which type of graphical representation that students of 2nd CEB preferred in solving Task 1 of Teaching Experience “Tasks on Organization and Data Processing in the 2nd CEB?”. .ii) - What difficulties have students in 5th year during the resolution of Teaching Experience. “Tasks on Organization and Data Processing in the 2nd CEB."? . iii) - What didactic adequacy of planning and implementation of Teaching Experience “Tasks on Organization and Data Processing in the 2nd CEB."? Given the nature of the research questions, we carried out a qualitative research based on IA. Thus, data were collected through participant observation, consultation documents, field notes, application of two questionnaire surveys and photographic record. The results suggest that students initially expressed difficulties in the construction and interpretation of Stem and Leaf Diagram, but due to the fact that there was an insistence on the theoretical explanation of this topic OTD and more students have applied exercises performed prior to data collection it was found later in solving Task 1 of Experiment Teaching students came to preferred this type of graphical representation. Regarding the difficulties in resolving the Teaching Experience it was found that students generally expressed difficulties in statistical language, the procedures to be followed in the collection, organization and representation of data and the level of the answers given argument. We conclude that it is necessary to develop more studies involving OTD 2. º CEB columnar to the difficulties faced by students especially in terms of construction and interpretation of the diagram Stem and leaves.
