Portefólio: instrumento de sensibilização à diversidade

Abstract

Portugal é, ao mesmo tempo, emissor e recetor de migrantes. Com a abertura das fronteiras em muitos países europeus verificou-se um aumento de estrangeiros a residir no nosso país. Estes trazem consigo as suas crianças que tentam integrar-se nas nossas escolas. Dentro e fora dos portões da Escola portuguesa ainda se verifica um elevado índice de exclusão ou desnivelamento social das populações minoritárias. Logo, o trabalho dos docentes deve ser também para os alunos que tenham a língua portuguesa como língua não-materna: estes serão, também, futuros cidadãos de Portugal e é desde cedo que se aprende a respeitar e a conviver com a diferença. A presente dissertação resulta de um projeto desenvolvido numa escola do 1º ciclo do ensino básico da região de Aveiro onde, através de uma adaptação do Portefólio Europeu de Línguas, foi criado um suporte de sensibilização ao Outro. As grandes finalidades do estudo são a consciencialização para a enorme variedade de línguas, estabelecendo correspondências entre realidades geográficas e realidades linguísticas; a promoção do gosto pela aprendizagem de línguas, contribuindo para o estabelecimento de uma relação afetiva com estas; a sensibilização dos participantes para valores de respeito e tolerância pelo diferente; tendo também como finalidade despertar a curiosidade face à diversidade de línguas e culturas. Através da análise de resultados foi possível verificar que o Portefólio é uma mais-valia no ensino/aprendizagem da cultura linguística, sendo um ótimo suporte na sensibilização ao Outro, indo ao encontro das necessidades pessoais e profissionais deste novo século.

Portugal is both the transmitter and the receptor of migrants. With the opening of borders in many European countries there has been an increase of foreigners living in Portugal. They bring their children, with the hope of integrating them into local schools. Inside and outside the gates of Portuguese schools there is still a high level of social exclusion and discrimination of minority populations. Therefore, people who speak Portuguese as a second language should also be considered: It is important as these people will also be future citizens of Portugal and for change to occur, it is vital people in these roles learn to respect and accommodate the differences in migrant communities. This dissertation is the result of a project developed in a primary school in the region of Aveiro where, through an adaptation of the European Language Portfolio, some activities were created to help with the awareness of migrant communities. The key objectives of this study are 1) awareness of the enormous variety of languages 2) establishing correspondences between geographical realities and realities language 3) the promotion of a taste for language learning 4) contributing to the establishment of a loving relationship with them 5) introducing participants to the values of respect and tolerance for different cultures 6) Create curiosity to the diversity of languages and cultures. Through the analysis of results, it was possible to conclude that the Portfolio is an asset in the learning and understanding of linguistic cultures. It is a great aid in raising the awareness of migrant communities being able to meet the future personal and professional needs of Portugal.
